I took my book advance in because I wanted to see the next great Dunbar graduate who needed a little bit of cash go on and do something. That is ridiculous. What that must have been like? It may happen with families, people's personal issues. Paul Laurence Dunbar High School is the only historically African-American high school in Dayton. There are lots of folks who went to Dunbar even before me who really came from challenged social circumstances and didn't have a lot of means. It's called "Keep a Plugging Away."
